Mild January weather means one thing for HELM – pruning and clearing. Winter is the perfect time for both since 1) plants are dormant, which is perfect for pruning Boxwoods, Hollies, Fruit Trees, and ornamentals; and 2) Clearing work goes twice as fast since the understory plants are dead or dormant.
The Landscaping and Excavating teams have spent the past three days one of our favorite historic farms in Western Albemarle clearing out old cedar hedgrows, opening up viewsheds, and pruning an incredible selection of Boxwoods and Hollies. Make hay while the sun shines, and clear & prune when it doesn’t snow!
