Despite the frigid temperatures, the HELM landscaping team has been busy pruning fruit trees!
It is essential to prune fruit trees when they are dormant generally between November and early March. It is important for the trees overall health to remove the dormant buds (growing points) to invigorate the remaining buds. Thinning is also important, by removing the entire shoot or branch it improves light penetration and can also redirect limb growth.
