Planning and foresight are essential to efficiently maintaining & improving any property, and it’s important to remember that it’s always the right time of year for something. It can be difficult to find time for capital improvement projects on a farm when planting season is in full swing and seasonal maintenance is taking up a significant portion of a crew’s resources. To get around this we keep a running list of projects that are not weather dependent – and not as time sensitive – so when the weather turns we’re ready to go and are always staying efficient.
Currently we have one of our teams beating the winter weather by refinishing the interior of a six stall barn on a client’s farms. Unfortunately wear & tear in an active boarding facility is unavoidable, and it’s important to stay on top of upkeep to avoid long term damage to the structure. That said, our team is glad to be staying busy inside on days where the temperature doesn’t get above freezing!
