A few weeks ago we got a call about a fencing project a little different than most – the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation needed us to build a historical fence on one of their main thoroughfares.
The materials had to be time period appropriate so we sourced hand cut locust posts from the woods of North Carolina, and found someone who forges nails by hand-feeding steel into a circa-1865 nailer up in New England. Below are some pictures of the finished product off of East Duke of Gloucester St.
