Creating wildlife habitat and planting food plots has always been a passion of ours – and sunflowers are without a doubt one of our favorite projects. This season HELM planted over 40 acres of sunflowers in 11 different fields and the results have been fantastic. Right now all of our fields are either in full bloom or close to it.
One of the great things about sunflowers is not only do dove love the seeds and flock to them in late August and September, but there are also few sights as remarkable in mid-July as a 5 acre field blanketed in bright yellow blooms. We’re already counting down to opening day of dove season on September 5th, but in the meantime we’ll be updating the blog regularly so check back soon.
